Update on my Mom...

Her surgery date was set for December 7th. Driving down the day before we had more medical drama. My poor mother-in-law and aunt were having their own arrays of sunshine. My aunt went into emergency c-section and my mother-in-law had three heart attacks. My aunt delivered an adorable baby boy, Zander Paul, & my mother-in-law was sent home after passing a series of tests.
It goes without saying that it was a stressful week and it hadn't even started yet.

Happy to say that her surgery was only 3 hours! Yes only! Considering the doctor originally told us that the surgery would take about 6..3 is great! Even though they didn't have her previous medical history, there was minimal scar tissue. After removing her uterus, Fallopian tubes, & ovaries, they did a flush to make sure there weren't any other cancer cells floating around, and then closed her up with 20 stitches.

The hospital stay was pretty great and I won't lie, unexpected. Even though everyone but my mom ended up sick with a bug that was going on, we were able to all take shifts and make sure that she always had someone with her.                    Movie time was my favorite! But I would say my absolute favorite was taking her home! Because of her previous surgeries, her incision healed twice as fast! When we went in to get the stitches removed two were almost enveloped, but there were no issues taking them out.
